After Aishwarya Rai, all south Indian heroes are now obsessed with Vidya Balan who made a sensational debut with Parineeta for which she bagged the best face of the year at the prestigious Filmfare Awards recently.

Top heroes like Kamal Hassan, Vikram and Vijay want to cast the pretty actress opposite them in their forthcoming films. And a section of the press reported that Vidya is Kamal’s heroine in K.S.Ravikumar directed Dasavatharam!

But sources close to the Vidya Balan told Moviebuzz: “Vidya is getting a lot of offers from Tamil and Telugu with top heroes including Dasavatharam. But right now, she has taken a decision not to do regional films as she is very busy with her Hindi assignments and has no time to offer”.

How can Vidya do a south Indian film at a time when the cream of Bollywood directors including Yash Chopra’s new film with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead is offered to her? This Iyer girl from Ottapalam near Palakkad in Kerala is the likely replacement to Rani Mukherjee for the top slot in the long run.

Moreover leading ladies in Bollywood are getting a lot of scope to perform unlike Tamil and Telugu films where the heroines are still considered as mere props to do the routine song ‘n’ dance numbers with superstars!
