An image of Vijay Sethupathi with News 7 news bulletin backdrop saying that Bhagavad Gita is a fictional work and it’s not a holy book as claimed by many, such works are the reason behind so many issues went viral on the social media.

Fans of the actor believed it to be Vijay Sethupathi’s speech and some of them even expressed their strong opposition against him on Facebook.

Only later, Vijay Sethupathi’s speech at the Digicop application launch was tweaked by a miscreant to spread hatred against the actor and Bhagavad Gita. In the original pic published by News 7, Vijay Sethupathi was quoted saying “Applications like Digicop will reduce the gap between people and cops”.

Posting the real and fake news piece on Facebook, Vijay Sethupathi said: “My dear people. Not only Bhagavad Gita, I didn’t demean any holy books and will never do in the future. Some anti-social elements have spread this rumor. In any situation, I will not speak anything which will affect the unity and faith of my people”
