Directors duo Pushkar Gayathri's upcoming film Vikram Vedha is loosely based on the famous Vikramaditya-Vetala tales. Though the story is completely different, we hear that the characterizations of Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan are based on King Vikramaditya and Vetala.

“Every time when police officer Vikram (Madhavan) tries to arrest gangster Vedha (Vijay Sethupathi), the latter narrates a story and escapes from the former”, said Pushkar Gaytathrie in a recent media interaction.

Billed as a neo-noir action crime thriller, Vikram Vedha also has Shraddha Srinath, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, John Vijay and ‘Kirumi’ Kathir in important roles.

Produced by Trident Arts and Y Not Studios, PS Vinod has cranked the camera for the film and Sam CS is scoring the music. Sources say that the film will be soon censored and then, the makers will be announcing the official release date.
