Rajinikanth's Annaatthe his next film was launched by Sun Pictures in a big way with top supporting cast. They had shot for few days but due to the Pandemic and lock down, the film was stalled.
Now, sources close to the film confirm that the superstar cannot start the shoot even if things are back to normal in 2020. Rajinikanth has clearly told Sun Pictures and team Annaatthe that he will not resume shooting for the film anytime soon. He also asked the team to not resume the shoot until the country returns back to normalcy from COVID19 lockdown.
Initially scheduled to release for Pooja holidays 2020, Sun Pictures later confirmed the Pongal 2021 slot. But now, sources close to the team say that the film will not release for Pongal 2021 because the team has only completed around 45% shoot.
The makers need another 50 to 60 days shoot left so as of now, they are only looking for April 2021 release. Directed by Siva, Annaatthe also has Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Soori, and Sathish in pivotal characters.
