The outbreak of COVID 19 has resulted in the movie industry coming to a standstill for more than two months now. The theatres are remaining closed and the shootings have been cancelled.
During his daily media brief, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was asked by the journalists about the chances of resuming shooting.
He said permission has been given to resume indoor shooting for television programmes, if they limit the number of participants as per the government order.
On being asked about shooting of Malayalam movies, the Chief Minister said “we will see what can be done about cinema as well.”
The cancellation of cinema shooting has affected the livelihood of many. With schedules and plans affected due to the cancellation of shooting in Malayalam, the industry has suffered big losses already.
Mollywood was on the verge of having many high profile releases at the theatres when COVID 19 came out of the blue.
