The representatives of Tamil Nadu Theater Owners and Multiplex Association are in talks with the Tamil Nadu Government to reopen the theaters in the state. Though a section of media says that from June first week, theaters owners will get a green signal from the Government, our sources say that the movie halls will remain shut till July.

But an important point here is that theaters have to operate without air conditioning post lockdown as experts have found that centralized AC is a strict no to avoid COVID 19 pandemic. And Chennai city is still a red zone!

Some of the states have allowed salon shops and digital showrooms but the Government strictly ordered them to operate without AC. We all know that most of the audiences visit theaters for the comfortable ambiance but without air-conditioning, pundits expect a steep decline in the footfall.

Altogether, tough times ahead for the film industry as they have to face several challenges in the coming days.
