A for Arvind and AAP


Arvind Kejriwal organized a stellar anti-corruption campaign in 2011. He peaked in 2013 by becoming the toast of the mainstream media, forming a political party and debuting big in the Delhi elections.

It all changed after he quit as Chief Minister in February 2014. It’s been all downhill ever since.

B for Bedi and Anna

Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi was offered the Delhi CM’s post if the BJP came to power. Had she accepted she could arguably been CM today.

Her political future is now uncertain. The Lokpal Bill was passed in Parliament and Anna Hazare briefly campaigned for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, but now looks totally retired.

C for Communists and Casteists

The Indian Communists lobby was extremely influential right from 1947. It survived even after the collapse of the USSR in 1991.

It gave a strong showing in 2004. But it’s curtains for them in 2014. Even caste politicians were by and large shown the door.
