Panaji, Jan 9 (IBNS) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched a probe against Goa Cricket Association (GCA) President Dayanand Narvekar for distributing cricket kits while the election code of conduct is in force.
Narvekar, also Congress MLA is likely to face police investigation as well.
"We received complaints against Narvekar for distributing the kits through the Association. We are already begun the probe," ECI's nodal officer Dr Durgaprasad said at a press briefing.
The ECI took the cognizance after GCA's former executive committee Shekhar Salkar and a localite Vallabh Dhakankar alleged the distribution of cricket kits. The complaint is reportedly substantiated it with some evidences.
