Driven by passion and committed to the cause, he continues to fire the stage of Airtel Super Singer 3 with his brilliant performances.
We catch up with the young singer to find out more about his love for music and his aspirations.
Who inspired you to be a singer? Who helped you get where you are?
My mother. My guru and once again my mom.
Which genre of music appeals to you the most? As a singer, which genre are you comfortable with?
Melody. I am comfortable with all genres because i enjoy the colour of every genre in its own way.
What do you think will be your contribution to the music world?
To preserve the works of legendry composers and sing them as and when opportunities arise; and to make music reach all kinds of people. I would also like to create a significant raga that spells for generations.
What is your suggestion to aspiring singers?
I may not be eligible for this question but I wish to share what I was told by my guru and other exponents - one has to have a good foundation in music and a singer must always have an interest to learn and accomplish more and more. Of course, practice is very important. As the elders rightly said, asura sadhakam and deva ganam.
Do you think a reality show is the best platform for budding artists to showcase their talent?
Yes, but it calls for great perseverance. With my experience, I feel that it depends on the individual and one has to look at the whole experience from a larger perspective beyond the winning aspiration. Otherwise, it may pull you down even if you are confident and have the desired talent.
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to become a successful Carnatic and playback singer. I intend to do a Ph.D. in music and pursue music therapy that can benefit the underprivileged sick.
