Meerut: While the blood stains inside the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris are still fresh and people across the world yet to come to terms with the bloodbath, a Bahujan Samaj Party leader here has announced a cash reward of Rs. 51 crore for the butchers, a Hindustan Times report said.
Haji Yakoob Qureshi, who made similar announcement back in 2006 for anyone who would kill the Danish cartoonist who created a controversial cartoon on Prophet Mohammed, on Wednesday said, according to the report, "I am ready to pay the money if they (Charlie Hebdo attackers) come and demand the declared reward."
The leader further said anyone who would disrespect the Prophet would meet similar fate as that of the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists as the followers of Prophet would not let them go unpunished.
The former Uttar Pradesh minister even went on to say whosoever insults Prophet Mohammed deserves death and there is no point in initiating legal action against them.
Meanwhile, speaking to the reporters, UP ADG of law and order said legal action can be taken against the leader after proper examination of his statement.
