Chittoor[India], Feb 13 (ANI): The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) lodged a complaint before the Election Commission against YSRCP leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy.Reddy, an MLA from Chandragiri assembly constituency in Chittoor district, has been accused of purchasing 1 lakh wall clocks and other items worth more than Rs 1000 each and distributing these to every household in the constituency. The TDP alleged that the MLA bought the items with money from undisclosed resources. In this regard, TDP Chittoor district secretary Narasimha Yadav has written a letter to the district election officer urging the poll body to take necessary action against the YSRCP leader.“We bring to your kind notice that Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy is distributing 1,00,000 wall clocks, costing Rs. 1000 (each), to every household in the AC (assembly constituency). The above 1,00,000 wall clocks were reportedly purchased for Rs. 10 crore in cash and without any proper tax bills and not supported (by) proper income sources of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy,” the letter noted.“Sources indicate there is significant evasion of GST causing huge loss to the public exchequer. The wall clocks contain photographs of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and are stored in prime places of Chandragiri,” Yadav noted. (ANI)
