The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was looked upon with great interest by fans around the world, when the sporting calendar for the year 2020 was released by the ICC. This interest was generated considering the ICC World T20 which was set to take place in Australia, just a few months after the conclusion of the edition.
Players who performed well in the IPL, had a decent chance of roaring back into contention for a spot in the squad. One of those players was none other than veteran MS Dhoni, who had not played an international fixture since the semi-final of the World Cup 2019 against New Zealand. Dhoni only had the IPL available as an opportunity to make his case strong.
However, with the 13th edition of the IPL expected to be cancelled most probably due to the coronavirus, it is certainly an area of concern for some of the most high-profile cricketers currently out there.
