5. A young team: When 0-4 happened in England, it was a team in decline with the greats Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir in their twilight years.
That’s why they couldn’t recover and we had a similar score line in Australia.
While these stalwarts formed our greatest Test batting line-up ever, there was no prospect for the future and that’s why they retired one by one.
This team in contrast is a young one and the experience will help them going forward.
This young team won us our first ever 4-0 Test whitewash at home and at least were able to put up a fight in the South Africa and New Zealand tours.
Everyone will have to pull up their socks for the extremely tough tours that are coming up ahead in England and Australia.
While the prospect of a series victory in either of these countries looks quite grim, our youngsters have at least offered us a glimmer of hope!
