How Lord's is the greatest ground for India
Sunil Rajguru

India has a 2-11Test win-loss record with England at Lord's. On the face of it, that seems to be pathetic. On top of that we have just played 6 ODIs there and one international T20 which we lost.

But statistics can be extremely misleading. For it may be argued that Lord's cricketing ground is in fact India's happiest hunting ground in the world!

Not only is out greatest moment there which happens to be the 1983 ODI World Cup win but Lord's has had many other happy moments for India.

A look at 6 of them…

1. Kapil holds the trophy, 1983: This is the moment that changed Indian cricket forever. One can't imagine Indian cricket if it had not won the ODI World Cup in 1983. Things would have been mighty different indeed.

Kapil Dev's running catch to dismiss the dangerous Vivian Richards. Mohinder Amarnath's gentle pace toppling the mighty Windies. The ground invasion when India won. David slays Goliath to become king.

Kapil holding the trophy on that fateful day is Indian cricket's most iconic image.
