IPL 2020 witnessed its first Super Sunday as nearly 450 runs were scored -- 29 sixes and 34 boundaries between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab. At the end, RR pulled off a record chase, winning by four wickets. The 224-run chase is the highest in IPL history, eclipsing their own record of 215 against Deccan Hyderabad in 2008.
Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell failed to defend 60+ runs in the last four overs justifying Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith's decision to chase at the Sharjah Cricket Ground. The 86 runs scored by RR in the last five overs is the most by a team in a successful run chase in IPL history.
