Six and Out

What was common in the dismissals of Punjab batsmen KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Sarfaraz Khan against Bangalore in Mohali? A six was followed by a wicket on each of the three occasions.

First to fall was Rahul. The opener smashed Yuzvendra Chahal for a mighty six straight down the ground.

And Off the very next ball, comes down the track to repeat the dose but fails to connect and Bangalore wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel stumps him.

Next up Mayank Agarwal. The bowler is the same - Chahal. A stunning shot over extra cover results in a maximum.

And the very next ball, a beauty from the leg spinner castles the batsman. A Length ball, dipping into a short of a length on a middle stump line, squares him up completely and takes the top of off stump.

In comes Sarfaraz Khan. A 143kph length ball from Mohammed Siraj is delivered over the fence at fine leg. Khan looks to swing the very next ball away, but nicks it on the way through to Patel. A bit of glove and Patel takes a good catch away to his left.

Hattricks by bowlers is not unusual but three-on-the-trot of this type does not happen too often.
